Q: What is the different between the Energy Star and other steel roofs.
They are giving you 30 percent of your taxes.

A: Some metal roofs have reflective coatings and are listed on the Energy Star website. These products, if installed this year or next, are eligible for a federal tax credit of 30% of the materials cost. Your maximum allowed credit under this program (which includes other products as well) is $1500.
