Hi Todd, this is Richard from Marco Island Fl. We spoke last week concerning the popping noise of the tin roof on our new home. Just to refresh your memory we have a snap clad silver color with stainless steel clips. Back 3 months ago they removed part of the roof and found the clips were defective. They replaced a section with new aluminum and new clips, in the beginning no popping noise after about a month we started hearing the popping again.
We just removed the new section of the roof and it’s visible that the panels are starting to rub against the clips again and causing the popping noise. The aluminum was new as well as the clips, the rubbing is not as evident on the clips and the panels as before, but the new section of roof is only 3 months old!! We are now installing a different color aluminum on another section of the home to see if we can determine if it’s possible the color of the aluminum is having a reaction to the heat and sun, or if its the clips! Any helpful thoughts?? If you would like I can send you pictures of the scrapping on the panels and clips?
