VERSAILLES – Versailles baseball coaches can now concentrate on training for a winning season instead of trying to stay dry. Classic Products Inc. in Piqua donated one of their lifetime metal roofs to the Versailles baseball field rebuilding project.

“The project is being funded solely through fundraisers, donations, and volunteer labor,” said Classic employee and former Versailles baseball mom Sheila Liette. “Not only did the company come up with material, but it has become a team as several of us will work to install the roof.”

Todd Miller, president of Classic Products, said that part of the company’s responsibility as a local business is to give back to the communities where employees live.

“One of the foundations of our company is relationships,” Miller said. “That includes our local relationships as well as to our vendors and customers.”

This is a multi-stage project, based on the fundraising dollars, with plans to later add, among other things, a two-story building that will serve as a dugout and restrooms on the ground floor with storage and press box above.

Started in 1980, Classic Products Inc. manufactures metal press-formed roofing that looks like wood shakes, shingles and tile. It is made from recycled metal and has been proven to reflect away the sun’s energy, which keeps homes cooler in the summer. Classic sells through a network of independent dealers around the world and is one of five manufacturers recognized by the Metal Construction Association’s Certified Metal Roofing program.
